Benue State University, Makurdi (BSUM) invites applications from suitably qualified Direct Entry applicants for the academic session 2023/2024. This guide provides a detailed overview of the application process, ensuring aspiring students have all the essential details.

Before delving into the application process, it is vital to confirm eligibility. Direct Entry candidates aspiring for admission to BSUM's degree programs in the specified academic session are encouraged to apply.

Application Procedure for BSUM Direct Entry Screening

A. Payment Process

1. Start by visiting the official university website: www.bsum.edu.ng.

2. Go to the Admissions menu and choose the Post UTME/DE link under the Applications section.

3. Input your JAMB number for verification.

4. After verifying your details, click on the “proceed” link to go to the payment platform.

5. Select one of the payment options:

  •    Bank Cash Payments
  •    Banks nationwide offer this service, including Access Bank Plc, Fidelity Bank Plc, Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, and First Bank of Nigeria Plc, among others.
Before visiting the bank, ensure you print the Payment Reference Number slip from the E-Payment Platform.

Upon payment, the bank will issue a receipt using the “College Pay” system.

  • Online Payments

Opt for the “Pay Online” button.

You will be redirected to the Interswitch Payment Page.

1. Choose your card type and fill in the necessary details.

2. After a successful transaction, a receipt will be generated.

  • ATM Payments

1. Visit any ATM terminal.

2. Select Quickteller > pay bills.

3. When prompted, input the Payment Reference Number and the Payment Code such as 01243566

4. Complete the transaction and retain the receipt.

  • Quickteller Internet Payment

1. Access the Quickteller website. For those applying to the College of Health Sciences, visit this link.

2. Input your registration number, email, and mobile number, and proceed as instructed.

Note: The Quickteller option incurs an additional fee of N100.00.

B. Completion of Registration

Return to the university website and select “Post UTME/DE” in the Applications segment.

Log in using your DIRECT ENTRY Registration number.

Proceed to fill in your Biodata and upload necessary documents, including: WAEC/NECO/NABTEB and A’ level Certificates, Birth Certificate or Declaration of age, State of Origin Certificate, and JAMB Direct Entry slip.

Print two copies of the “Acknowledgement Slip.”

Ensure your O’level results are uploaded on the JAMB portal. Only candidates with results on the JAMB portal will be considered post-screening.

- Registration commencement: Friday, 3rd November 2023

- Registration closes: Monday, 8th January 2024
